... it takes the whole community to raise and care for a child, the international community. |
CHILDSAFE will host its first annual fund raiser to benefit children in the Foundations for Life: Limb Replacement Program. This holiday campaign, which ends Christmas Day, is designed to raise money to provide 250 artificial arms and legs to children in the program. Children who have suffered serious physical injuries from land mines and cluster bombs. To help launch the campaign, Homestead Healing Natural Health Clinic is donating 5,000 containers of its herbal pain relief balm. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sales of the Relief Rub will be used to fund the program. The Relief Rub is made from 100% certified organic and wild-crafted herbs, and is a proven pain reliever used for body aches and pains as well as chronic and painful skin conditions. Individuals wishing to purchase the Relief Rub are asked to log onto the foundation’s website at www.childsafefoundation-usa.org. The cost of the Relief Rub is $22, plus shipping and handling. Across the world, there are currently 110 million land mines in 64 countries and an untold millions of cluster bombs in over 23 countries. Every day, 48 people are killed or injured by cluster bombs, nine of which are small children. Children often innocently wander into the fields during recreational activities or when performing their daily chores. Through the Foundations for Life: Limb Replacement Program, these children can receive surgeries, pain medications, follow-up medical treatments, prosthetic limbs, and orthopedic training. Established in 1993, CHILDSAFE's humanitarian mission is to help meet the developmental needs of the most disadvantaged child survivors of war and victims of land mines, cluster bombs, and other unexploded ordnances. The foundation works with other non-governmental organizations to expand opportunities for these child victims to ensure they experience the joy of everyday life and are able to maximize their personal gifts and potential. |
